I am an associate professor of music at the University of Pennsylvania. Before starting this job in 2015 I held a two-year ACLS postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Southern California in the history department.
As academic jobs cease to exist, it is harder and harder to follow what used to be a traditional career path. Like many of my peers, I was an adjunct (part time, temporary, contingent) lecturer for one year after finishing my PhD in 2012.
